Kawamura is located a five-minute walk from Yamashina Station in Kyoto.

It is a station that I don’t usually get off at by train, and from Osaka, it is a bit of a hurdle to get to… but despite this, I find myself wanting to go to Yamashina just to eat tonkatsu.
Nevertheless, it is the kind of restaurant that makes you want to go to Yamashina just to eat tonkatsu.

Personally, I have to visit at least once a month or else I get withdrawal symptoms… I have been going there so much that I have withdrawal symptoms if I don’t visit at least once a month….

It goes without saying that Tonkatsu is one of the top 100 tonkatsu restaurants in Japan, and has been selected as a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant every year!

The most attractive point of Kawamura’s tonkatsu is that both the fat and lean meat are well balanced and cooked to perfection.
If you focus on one or the other, you may find that one is undercooked and vice versa, but the fact that both are fried to the best condition is what makes it a masterpiece of deep frying!
