Recommended Onsen in Kyoto No.8

Introduction

From Shijo Subway Station, go south on Karasuma Dori.

Enter the Karasuma-Takatsuji intersection to the west and turn left at the end of Nishinotoin, and you will find a public bathhouse in the alley.

It is a white two-story building, the upper part of which appears to be a residence. The building next door may also belong to this building.

The lobby is small. The changing rooms are small.

There is a drink vending machine and a free hair dryer service. Lockers are of the Kyoto-like type with wicker baskets inside.

The bathroom is surprisingly spacious. There is an electric bath in the front and two circular bathtubs in the center, forming a figure of eight.

In the back there is a jet bath for bathing, which on that day was rice bran olive hot water.
The sauna here is intense and is available at no extra charge in a 7-8 person size.

The thermometer indicated a surprising 118°C, which is indeed quite hot. The heat is so intense that it is hard to believe that the thermometer is malfunctioning, and sweat is gushing out of you all at once.

The water bath is also quite good, with a large amount of overflow and input.

The spout is like a spout.

It is refreshingly cool and supremely pleasant.

There is an open-air bath in the back, and it is a large space.

There is a shallow bath at a temperature of about 40 degrees Celsius. There is a washing area here as well.

Amenities are also provided, and there are two sets of aloe and seaweed from Crobar.

I think this is a good public bathhouse with a water bath, a sauna, and a warm bathtub, all of which are of high quality. The sauna is quite hot.
